Biochar: Carbon Capture & Storage Solutions in Warwickshire
Our state-of-the-art kiln produces Biochar from dead and dangerous trees that have been felled locally.
What is Biochar?
Biochar is a term for the carbonisation of organic material at temperatures of between 300°C and 1000°C while virtually all oxygen has been removed.
The term for this is called pyrolysis, and processing organic waste in this way stops greenhouse gases from being released and provides a method of capturing carbon.
Our Biochar is created from local trees that have been felled due to being dead or dangerous. At Tree Safe we do not fell healthy trees, only those that have to be removed due to decay fungi, root plate instability, storm damage.
What are its uses?
A major use for Biochar is for long-term carbon capture, but there are many other benefits that come from producing and using Biochar.
